Weapons-Free Policy

Statement of Policy: Florida Digestive Health Specialists (FDHS) has a strict policy to maintain a workplace that is free of firearms and weapons. The possession of firearms or weapons of any kind is strictly prohibited on all premises owned or operated by FDHS. This policy applies universally, regardless of whether an individual possesses any license or permit.

Scope: This policy is in place to ensure a safe and secure environment and applies to all employees, patients, contractors, vendors, and visitors. A valid concealed weapons permit does not exempt individuals from this policy.

Prohibited “Weapons”: This includes, but is not limited to, firearms (whether concealed or openly carried), knives, explosives, and any other instruments that could potentially cause harm to someone.

Enforcement:

• Any individual found violating this policy will be asked to remove the weapon from the property immediately.
• Failure to comply with this request will be considered a violation of this policy and treated as trespassing.

Exemptions: This policy does not apply to authorized law enforcement personnel or security personnel acting within the scope of their official duties.
